Studio 54 Attracting Stars James Brown, John Belushi & Keith Richards

Studio 54 became an iconic place for celebrities from all different areas of the industry to let their hair down. It was originally opened in 1927 under the name Gallo Opera House, but after undergoing a few changes, became the club that older generations of celebs kicked back in. Due to an issue with taxes (evasion), founders Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager were convicted and had to sell the infamous club. Pictured above is James Brown, a singer known as "the Godfather of Soul", with hits such as It's a Man's Man's Man's World to his name; Keith Richards, who we all know from The Rolling Stones; and, Saturday Night Live actor John Belushi.

Maud Adams Pictured In 1966

Maud Adams was a very successful model and Swedish actress who primarily rose to fame through her role on The Man With the Golden Gun, in 1974. She followed this up with another part in the James Bond movies in 1983. Her fame and stature grew throughout Hollywood and these days, she's estimated to have a net worth in the region of $1.3 million. At one stage in her life, she had considered becoming a translator as she is able to speak fluently in five languages. She's no longer active in the movie front and is likely enjoying a relaxing retirement.

Jaclyn Smith Looking Cool With A Jaguar

Jaclyn Smith is next on the list and the stunning actress can be seen here leaning on the trunk of a sleek Jaguar. Between the years of 1976 and 1981, Smith shot to fame with a long-standing role on the TV series, Charlie's Angels. She holds the title of being the only original female lead who remained with the show for its entirety. Her personal finances no doubt took a sharp rise following her time on the show. In 1985, she began designing clothes for Kmart and also became a pioneer in the movement for celebrities to have their own brands rather than simply be the face of others.

Comedy TV show Soap was a hit throughout the late '70s

Originally running from September 13, 1977, comedic TV show Soap was a big hit. It was a parody of daytime soap operas that make viewers laugh so hard. The show was bold and often tackled taboo subjects in a funny and witty way. Its popularity had boosted its ratings and the earnings of ABC production, owing as well to the strong cast that brought the show to life. This included actress Katherine Helmond who made her name with Soap but also bagged a recurring role on Everybody Loves Raymond. A young Billy Crystal also graced the cast who many remember now for voice-acting in Monsters Inc. and for starring on Analyze This.

Oscar-winning drama Norma Rae helped Sally Field rise to fame

While many remember actress Sally Field from her role in 1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire, her career had been reaching new heights for many years before that was even released. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1979 following a dominating performance in the drama, Norma Rae. Field has amassed millions over the course of her career too, with her financial advisor no doubt busy juggling her $55-million estimated worth. It's not all rosy for Field though, who was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2005. The illness, which affects bone density, ran in her family, but the diagnosis still surprised her. Despite this, Field still looks incredible in her 70s.

The Stunning Audrey Hepburn Caught On Set Of Breakfast at Tiffany's

Audrey Hepburn became a legend in Hollywood and rightly so, although it wasn't just her work in front of the camera that she would be remembered for. While she dominated performances in movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's in 1961, or The Nuns Story in 1959, she also became an ambassador for UNICEF in 1989. Her dedication to improving awareness for those who were suffering was admirable and the humanitarian had the freedom from financial restraint, thanks to her large savings account. Unfortunately, after returning from a trip to Somalia, she experienced abdominal pain which was later diagnosed as cancer. This ultimately took her life in 1993, well before her time.

The Lucy Show gave us a combo starring Lucille Ball & Western legend John Wayne

The stunning Lucille Ball was loved by the public right up until her death in 1989. Her acting was full of talent but her career changed in 1962 when she became the first woman to run a major TV studio. In the photo above, she was captured alongside the iconic Western movie star John Wayne. In 1930, Wayne showed his talents on The Big Trail before going on to become the huge star we remember him as today. Reports suggest that his net worth would be in the region of $50 million, with Lucille not far behind him with a very respectable $40 million.

Dr. Zhivago star Julie Christie in her role as Lara

Actress and beauty Julie Christie was born in 1940 and went on to star in the eighth highest-grossing movie of all time after inflation adjustments. We're talking about Dr. Zhivago of course, which went on to win many, many awards and nominations at the time of its release. The movie itself is based on a novel written by Boris Pasternak and is set between World War 1 and the Russian Civil War. It was a huge hit, which was well-deserving of the immense earnings it raked in as well as the huge publicity the main cast had received afterward.

Music legend Louis Armstrong snapped playing music for his wife in Egypt

The pyramids of Giza are, without a doubt, a major tourist attraction as people go to revel in the grand structures. What many don't know though is that a very iconic photo of music and jazz master, Louis Armstrong, was taken while he was playing the trumpet as his wife was listening - with the Giza as the backdrop. In 1961, Armstrong was sent to Egypt with his wife to perform as an act of cultural diplomacy. Looking at the photo and imagining yourself right there with the couple in Egypt as music is being played makes you live for a moment and forget about your loan problems even briefly.

The infamous Chopper was one of the coolest things you could own in the '70s

If you take a step back in time and find yourself immersed within the '70s, you'd likely notice that many people would drive around on a "chopper" or some variation of this motorcycle. It was the definition of what being cool was all about and people with a whole variety of income and bank account sizes were getting in on the trend. This was helped by the 1969 movie Easy Rider which showcased some of the coolest bikes you'd see at the time, including a customized Harley Davidson and a chopper designed à la Captain America style.

Catwoman Eartha Kitt playing with a feline friend in the final season of Batman in 1968

Eartha Kitt was blessed with unrivaled gifts whether it came to acting, singing or dancing. She had mastered her skill and started her career in 1943 when she joined the Katherine Dunham Company troupe. She became a lead vocalist and recorded many songs which became huge hits, and her prominence in the world grew further with her acting talent. She could speak four languages which really helped define her acting style and portray several roles in films. One is the aforementioned Batman where she played 'Catwoman' in the final season. Her success kept her account incredibly healthy but the star, sadly, died in 2008 after battling cancer.

A love triangle between two huge stars & a stunning photographer

The above photo, reportedly taken in 1968, shows the beautiful Pattie Boyd and the immensely gifted George Harrison. He became a huge star, thanks to The Beatles and subsequently went on to earn a lot of money in the process. His finances meant a very comfortable lifestyle and after marrying the beautiful photographer and model, Pattie Boyd, all seemed right in the world. However, as it turned out, Pattie was caught in a love triangle with Harrison's best friend - guitarist Eric Clapton. After rebuffing Eric's advances, Clapton apparently spiraled into a heroin addiction, but in the end, she left Harrison and married Clapton in 1979. They separated almost a decade later.

A very pink Pink Floyd in 1968

Forming in 1965, British rock band Pink Floyd easily became one of the most commercially successful bands in history. Their music was experimental and some would say even psychedelic, but that only added to the mystery and the appeal of the group. They seemingly effortlessly managed to leave an impression and it's no surprise they became one of music's most influential contributors. The band was initially composed of four students and friends, with the addition of David Gilmour happening later, although he was involved when the band became insanely wealthy. Well, they had the privilege of fame and huge paychecks at a young age - one that they must have cherished.

A moment of happiness caught on camera with these four stars in 1965

Barbara Eden is perhaps best remembered for her role in I Dream of Jeannie, in 1965. Pictured beside her in the photo is the gorgeous Dawn Wells who absolutely dominated her role in Gilligan's Island between 1964 and 1967, although she's appeared in countless more things both before and after. Mingling alongside them is another star who built up a loaded checking account in the form of Lori Nelson. Nelson starred in Mohawk, Untamed Youth, and a host of other TV shows and movies. The last person to mention is Shelley Fabares. The actress/singer is best remembered for her roles on Coach and The Donna Reed Show.

The Grateful Dead snapped in the Bay Area while they messed around

Rock band The Grateful Dead was active from 1965 until 1995 and during that thirty-year period became a cultural phenomenon. Part of their immense popularity stemmed from the fact that they weren't just a rock band. Instead, they mashed together a combination of country, reggae, rock, folk, blues, and more to create a seamless blend that on paper just might not work. They mastered live performances and in 2004 were ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as 57th of The Greatest Artists of All Time. Their wealth management team was no doubt kept very, very busy during the band's active years.

The day Ron & Cheryl Howard were married in 1975

Ron Howard shot to fame in the role of Opie Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show. From there, the actor and filmmaker's career seemed to continue going only upward. In 1975, he got married to Cheryl and the two haven't looked back since. This photo showcases their special day as the newlyweds prepare for a life together. Ron also directed Angels & Demons, Apollo 13, and The Da Vinci Code. Their fortune might have increased with them but the family net worth kept reaching new heights when daughter Bryce Dallas Howard became a star, too. You would recognize Bryce from Jurassic World alongside Chris Pratt.

The Pretenders in 1978- Pete Farndon, Chrissie Hynde, James Honeyman-Scott & Martin Chambers

The Pretenders were formed in 1978 in a place in England called Hereford. There have been a few changes of members over the years after two of the original ones died due to drug-related illnesses. Those 'originals' include Chrissie Hynde - the sole remaining member from the very beginning; Pete Farndon who did backup vocals and played the bass; James Honeyman-Scott who played the lead guitar and tragically died at just 25 years old; and of course, Martin Chambers on the drums. He's still alive and well although unlike Hynde, he's not a part of the band anymore. We imagine his personal finance is still healthy though!

Musician Debby Boone had the biggest song of the '70s with You Light Up My Life

Musician Debby Boone might not be well known among the newer generations of our magnificent race but in the '70s, she was on the biggest names in music. This was helped in part down to the fact that her single, You Light Up My Life, spent an incredible ten weeks at the top of the charts. It wasn't until 1991 that her record was beaten when Boys II Men managed thirteen consecutive weeks in the number one spot. Boone amassed a sizeable fortune, thanks to her musical success and her financial planner was probably kept busy for many years from 1977 when You Light Up My Life was released.

Andre the Giant showcasing his enormous size

Andre Roussimoff was born in 1946 in Moline, France and he grew to be one of nature's most incredible creations. He was an enormous man, hence the nickname 'Andre the Giant' and he capitalized on his size by becoming a professional wrestler. His bank account likely took a sharp incline as his career took off although he, unfortunately, died well before his time in 1993 as a result of congestive heart failure. Andre passed away in his sleep. The above photo gives a startling indication of his size though, dwarfing the beer can and the hand of 6-footer Terry Todd beside him.

Gorgeous star Jayne Mansfield dancing with a mesmerized U.S. Marine

Jayne Mansfield was a huge name during the '50s and men all over the world were in love with her appearance. She was a true icon and pinup girl for people everywhere. She was also prone to publicity stunts that usually involved her...exposing herself in some 'accidental' way or another. Her financial situation was healthy enough, as it was estimated that she had around $2 million in her account. The photo above shows one very happy - somewhat entranced - young marine dancing away with the stunning actress. Unfortunately, in 1967, she was involved in a fatal traffic accident which took her life .

TV Show F-Troop was a hit from 1965 until 1967, spanning two seasons & 65 episodes

Back in 1965, a satirical TV show emerged on peoples' screens in the form of F Troop. The premise for the show followed U.S. soldiers and American Indians during the 1860s and frequently parodied historical events. Comedic timing and gags were abundant in the show which involved a malfunctioning cannon and a lot of humor. The show aired until 1967 and benefited from actors such as Forrest Tucker, Melody Patterson, and Larry Storch. They didn't become Hollywood sensations although they had likely enjoyed great salaries and the exposure the show gave them.

Immortal Betty White gamely posing beside actor Lorne Green in 1968

Actress Betty White could well live forever. We say that because she was born in 1922 making her very close to be 100 years old and to be honest, she still looks great! She won awards for The Mary Tyler Moore Show as well as for her role on Golden Girls. Here, she is photographed alongside Lorne Greene at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1968. Greene became well known for his role on Bonanza although he didn't possess the immortal gene that Betty has. He died in 1987 which, while saddening, meant his three children probably benefited from inheriting money after his death.

Hervé Villechaize & Ricardo Montalbán on the set of Fantasy Island

Fantasy Island was a TV show that ran from 1977 to 1984. It starred Ricardo Montalbán as Mr. Rourke, a mysterious man who would grant fantasies to those who happen to visit the island. His sidekick is Tattoo, played by Hervé Villechaize. Hervé had a memorable part and would run over to the bell tower when new guests arrive. Prior to the 1983-1984 season, Villechaize was dismissed by the producers and he was replaced. His replacement didn't climb a bell tower; instead, he simply pressed a button. The show was financially viable though and was even revived in 1999, allowing Fantasy Island to secure further earnings.

The Exorcist created huge crowds of people waiting to view it at cinemas

Everyone has probably heard of or watched The Exorcist. It didn't take long for it to earn the title of being one of the best horror movies the world had (or perhaps has) ever seen. It was released in 1973 and was made with a budget roughly estimated at $12 million. It proved a commercial success though, reportedly earning $441.3 million at the box office! We bet that the producers and distributor Warner Bros. did not even consider how profitable their business plan for the film would turn out to be.

The true sidekick of Adam West...

Adam West was born in 1928 and while he would always be remembered primarily for his role as Batman in 1966, he started acting in the '50s. He's pictured here with his dog, the true sidekick he had by his side. Unfortunately, in 2017, Adam passed away at the age of 88, after losing his battle with leukemia. Adam's net worth at the time of his death is estimated to be around the $10-million mark which is a testament to the success he had found on the screen. As well as acting, he provided voice work for many shows, including for 2017's Batman vs. Two-Face and Powerless.

The classic soft drink being shared between two siblings

In recent years, people have spoken up against the health implications drinks such as Coca-Cola may cause - not just decaying teeth! That being said, Coca-Cola manages to find product placements and has an enormous consumer base, thanks to the addictive and refreshing taste it provides (we heard that it's also good for cleaning toilets and rusty objects). In 2017, The Coca-Cola Company made a staggering $35.41 billion in revenue, so it's safe to say it isn't going away any time soon (since the dividends just keep pouring in for the shareholders!). The above photo was reportedly taken in 1956 and shows two siblings sharing a glass of the fizzy goodness.

The Girl Can't Help It star Jayne Mansfield with a cockatoo

You've seen Jayne Mansfield earlier on this list and here she is again. Did you know that she rose to fame in 1956 when she was cast on The Girl Can't Help It? The movie became one of the biggest hits that 20th Century Fox had released that year and helped catapult Jayne into the spotlight. Mansfield was desired by many and became known for her provocative nature. And while she had left the world already, she had a daughter who continues her acting legacy. We're talking about Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay, of course.

Perhaps one disappointing day for The Beatles & Yoko Ono

Formed in Liverpool in 1960, The Beatles went on to become one of the biggest bands in the world. They redefined the music industry and were an incredible influence on how things progressed musically. The above photo captures them after recording a song for Let in Be, a movie released in 1969. Despite the incredible affluence the band had created and no doubt an enormous wealth in their account, in this one day in 1969, they weren't in a good place. Rumors were rife that there were disagreements among the band members, with John Lennon refusing to leave the side of Yoko Ono, as well as about his alleged addiction to heroin.

The Andy Griffith Show Stars Posing in 1960

In 1960, the first episode of The Andy Griffith Show was broadcast to the world, helping give exposure to actors Andy Griffith, a young Ron Howard (who would add to his portfolio his being a great filmmaker), and Elinor Donahue. Here, they were captured for a promotional shot for the show. Elinor never remained with the show though, despite initially being penned as a love interest for Andy. After one season, she asked to be released from her contract. Her birth name was actually Eleanor but after changing it to Elinor, her career took off! Andy Griffith went on to star in several shows, including Matlock. He passed away in 2012.

The Blue Oyster Cult posing for a promotional shot

When it comes to influential bands and musicians, Blue Oyster Cult is definitely on the list of contributors. Many heavy metal bands such as Metallica and Iron Maiden have been influenced by them in some way or another. Their music predominantly pumped out heavy metal intertwined with cryptic lyrics. It was formed in 1967 and has been active virtually ever since, although the members have changed somewhat throughout the years. The financial consultant for the band must have been very busy, especially during the peak years throughout the '60s and the'70s.

Allen Funt was the long-standing host for Candid Camera

Candid Camera was developed, created, and hosted by Allen Funt back in 1948 and he remained the host until 1992! The show was a smash hit with the premise of having a hidden camera and the 'actors' would pull pranks on strangers. It made famous the phrase 'Smile, you're on Candid Camera!' as the unsuspecting citizens found out they were being tricked. Main host Allen Funt initially started his career for an advertising agency before moving into radio and finally into TV. The success of Candid Camera provided him with steady paychecks alright. Funt died in 1999 at 84 years old.

King of parody songs & award winner Weird Al' Yankovic with Another One Rides the Bus

With some very impressive achievements to his name, Weird Al Yankovic or Alfred Yankovic as he was born, has enjoyed a very successful career with music. In 1976, he aired his first comedic song and since then, he has sold more than 12 million albums! His net worth is reportedly around $16 million and he's earned himself four Grammy Awards. Add to that over one thousand live performances and a further eleven award nominations, and we can safely say he's deserving of his stature. His crowning jewel has to be the parodies he comes up with. Based on original songs, he releases comedic lyrics which people seem to love.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Kenny Stabler with coach John Madden

Kenny Stabler, nicknamed 'Snake,' played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders between 1970 and 1979. He's pictured above during that period with his coach John Madden. Kenny went on to become one of the sports greatest athletes, winning the title of Most Valuable Player in 1974 and making the All-Decade Team of the '70s. His wealth management advisers no doubt kept track of his income as he was highly sought after. He had a brief stint with the Houston Oilers and the New Orleans Saints. He was elected posthumously to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016; he died a year earlier.

Mara of the Wilderness star Lori Saunders & the wolf in 1965

Lori Saunders is perhaps best remembered for her long-serving role on Petticoat Junction from 1965 to 1970, but she also appeared in several other things, too. Pictured above is her 1965 casting in Mara of the Wilderness alongside her furry friend and co-star. After the success of Petticoat Junction, she found herself cast on The Beverly Hillbillies and Betsy. Her success never turned her into a global superstar but we imagine that her savings account is not exactly struggling. A testament to that is Lori's estimated fortune of $3 million! She said her goodbyes to acting in 1980.

The sibling duo The Carpenters at a softball tournament

Brother and sister duo Richard and Karen Carpenter formed their own little musical ensemble. The two of them comprised The Carpenters - aptly named after themselves. They first performed in 1965 and by 1969 were signed to A&M Records. They saw incredible success and wealth, with Richard being worth an estimated $10 million. The happy tale didn't end well for Karen though. While they were abundant with earnings and an ever-growing fan base, Karen suffered from anorexia, an eating disorder little was known about at the time. This ultimately led to her suffering a heart failure at the age of 32 which killed her.

Some things never change - that's true in the case of this sailor looking at a Playboy Magazine!

While adult magazines have definitely been neglected since the creation of the Internet, those stuck out at sea no doubt would tend to have an odd copy of Playboy or its equivalent stashed away somewhere. Hugh Hefner launched Playboy in 1953 - partly funded by a $1,000 loan from his mother. The men's magazine proved incredibly successful globally. The success of Playboy could be linked to the fact that Marilyn Monroe, who needs no introduction, graced the cover of the maiden issue. Given her huge stature in the world at the time, this practically made Playboy explode on the market.

The Beverly Hillbillies star Donna Douglas posing for a photo in 1962

Donna Douglas lived until she was 82 years old and would no doubt have continued to enjoy her bank account had it not been for an unfortunate battle with cancer. Her role as Ella May on The Beverly Hillbillies put her on the map and is what she would be best remembered for. She starred in the show from 1962 til 1971 although she could also sing and was an avid writer. Not one to be meddled with, she once filed a lawsuit against Disney and cast members of Sister Act, claiming they had plagiarized a book owned by her. Disney won the court case after she rejected a $1-million settlement.

Dawn Wells shot to fame, thanks to Gilligan's Island

Dawn Wells starred in many movies and shows over the years, including Bonanza and The Wild Wild West in 1968. Despite all of her screen appearances, she's definitely most remembered for the role she played on Gilligan's Island. She played Mary Ann Summers and although her character isn't one with an in-depth backstory, she fulfills the role of laundry expert and the cook for the 'islanders.' She could definitely do with some debt relief though as Wells lost a significant amount of her wealth during the financial crash in 2008. She's since had a GoFund page set up after incurring $200K in debt on medical bills.

Activist & actress Heather Thomas on the set of The Fall Guy

Between 1981 and 1986, The Fall Guy was broadcast into the world. The show features three leads - Lee Majors, Heather Thomas, and Douglas Barr. They are stunt performers who spend their free time as bounty hunters. The stunning Heather Thomas pictured above played Jody Banks and it's definitely her most notable role. The show must have brought on an impressive fan base - as well as consistent income (no doubt helped by a financial planner) as it frequently benefited from the presence of celebrity cameos. Lee Majors is best known for his role in The Six Million Dollar Man, and references to that were made throughout The Fall Guy.

Lucy Ball & Vivian Vance on the set of The Lucy Show

The Lucy Show featured actress Lucy Ball, who won several Emmy Awards for her performances, and for the first three seasons had Vivian Vance as co-star, too. The two of them are pictured above being mischievous as was the norm of the show. Vivian gave her last in 1977 which sadly was the same year she suffered from a stroke which left her paralyzed. Two years later, she passed away due to an unsuccessful battle with cancer. It was a sad day for the world and those closest to her were devastated. Even the idea of inheriting money on the part of her heirs would have been nothing compared to losing the lovely Vance.
